Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend <3

Maybe, it's the way they sparkle underneath the bright Hollywood lights whenever draped over Hollywood's most iconic legends plated over the silver screen... or the way that they immediately add Queen-like sophistication and class to one's wardrobe, with even the appearance of one stone in the middle of some dainty silver ring... yet, no matter what the main reason may be, it can be far from doubted that this precious jewel is far from replaceable as one of a woman's most favored goods in life!

Now, there are a vast majority of ways to incorporate this precious jewel into your wardrobe... and I presume that most of you are eager to do so! So, here are some fabulous diamond-esque fashion finds I've scouted out for you! ;) Enjoy!

1. Diamond Necklace

A more classic approach as well as one of my favorite ways to channel the priceless jewel would have to most definitely be around my neck!

2. Diamond Tiaras

To some, the whole idea of sporting the elegant princess aimed beauty accessory can be a bit intimidating. However, I do urge you to take some advice and influence from the beautiful Miss Holly Golightly from "Breakfast at Tiffany's".  She proved that the look is just as suitable for any glamorous young ladies living amid the hustle and bustle of New York city as it is for any luxury surrounded duchess!

 3. Diamond Rings

An obvious favorite to many, as the look is both excessively subtle yet glamorous all at the same time, needless to say the perfect way to incorporate the precious stone in more of a less "attention getting" way. However, for those of you (like me) who yearn for something bold and "statement making"... the links below also contain more "noticeable" takes on the century old look. ;)

4. Diamond Bracelets

Ooh! Who doesn't love diamond bracelets? So, sophisticated and yet considerably simple like the diamond ring! Take a tip from Marilyn, as she strings them over her satiny pink elbow length gloves, my dears! <3

5. Diamond Earrings

Now, last, but by far the least of the many choices (mind you there are plenty more which exceed my minuscule list, btw. ;)) are particularly the number one on my list... diamond earrings... the chandelier types to be exact. Hope you enjoy the links for some fabulous "Classic Hollywood" inspired chandelier earrings encrusted with diamonds... I believe there is one edgy look amid the variety as well... for all of you trendsetters and fashion daredevils. ;)

Oh, now and before I leave... let us not forget that there are a series of ways to include the priceless stone into our wardrobe. Some of them camouflaged in shoes, handbags, dresses, etc. So, keep your eyes open and always look for more ways to incorporate even more shine into your wardrobe! <3

Now, you must also remember to let your personality shine through. Meaning you must practice kindness and be avid in expressing your inner self! Don't be afraid to show the world who you are, what you can do... let them fall in love with you for both your talent and charisma! For no matter how many diamonds you drape over yourself... there'll never be enough to camouflage a dull or drab personality... especially one that never practices kindness! So, before we depart... always remember to look to the diamond and try to shine like it! <3 xoxoxo Hope you had a fabulous Tuesday, my beauty queens! ;)

Flower Crown Beauties

The simplicity, and celebration of nature that seems to be woven into these delicate crowns, is often an obvious symbol of the person channeling it's deep appreciation for the natural beauty surrounding them! It also seems to let off a very fairy-like look, a carefree Boho look, or whatever you must... and although it might be a trend that'll stand out boldly from the crowd, I highly embrace the look and encourage you to, the next time you find yourself on your way to a luncheon or date in the park, to have your flower crown ready! ;)

Pair it with some elegant floral sundress, you "Prairie Sweetheart", or even some simple tee-shirt and slacks. The look is sure to let of a confident yet beautiful vibe! So, no hesitating and give it a go! Celebrate the beauty of nature with me! <3 Besides what have you got to lose? Put away any second thoughts, head to your local craft store and pick up the necessary supplies required for your beautiful crown! Floral tape is an obvious necessity, floral wire, crepe paper (if opting for handmade paper flowers), faux flowers (you'll find a vast amount within your local "Michael's" or "Hobby Lobby" craft store for instance! ;)), and even fresh flowers from the great outdoors (for even a more natural/outdoorsy look).

Below I have attached links with instructions, one of which can be credited to Martha Stewart for a variety of instructions on paper flowers and the other two from two fabulous blogs, with directions for making the entire flower crown (the wiring, the weaving, etc.)

Below are two photos of a film my sisters and friends and I were making... I constructed the floral crowns on my own out of crepe paper. Also, to make them look more earthy and realistic... I mixed some strands of fresh leaves within them! <3

Perhaps, however, many woman do feel nervous to try the look... to finally go through with that hairdresser appointment and have all of their radiant locks chopped off. Yes, I don't deny that it takes a lot of courage, confidence and feeling comfortable in one's skin to go through with the seemingly perilous and risky act. Sure! So, if you're feeling beyond tempted to go for the drastic change, just use your judgement and give it a shot! Besides, though not many woman are willing to take the plunge, many seem to envy the confidence and bravery of that other woman who has gone for it! So, just choose on what makes you the happiest... opt for what you really and truly want! Besides, if you change your mind or realize that it was a bad choice, you always have the ability to grow your hair back to it's previous length. So, let's be daring, and bring out our inner Mia Farrows!  Which one of you beauties is with me? ;) xoxoxo

The Radiance of The Ombre Trend

The Radiance of The "Ombre" Trend

I've always felt that the look of "ombre" hair highlights has always let off such a 70s-esque feel! Laugh if you must, but I find it nearly identical to the glorious satiny locks of Marcia Brady, the eldest daughter in the decades famed television show "The Brady Bunch". Notice the way her hair just naturally lightens at the tips? It lets off such a carefree and natural look! Now perhaps, the modernized version of the look, is a bit more bold and "trendy"... however, I feel that the look is most definitely suitable for nearly anyone! So, if you find yourself in dire need of a makeover of somekind... I suggest opting for this subtle yet edgy look. The golden hues radiating from the blonde ends will also offer a more glowy and sun-kissed look to your skin as well... perfect for the summertime, eh? Below I have attached some links on how to achieve the look yourself... if you don't feel confident enough to do it on your own, feel free to find a picture of your favorite "ombre" look online and show it to your hairstylist instead! <3 Have a groovy day, my lovelies! ;) xoxoxo

The Shattered Portrait Behind America's Sweetheart

The Shattered Portrait Behind America's               Sweetheart

Tired, lonely and depressed, America’s number one beauty icon and film legend, often found herself slipping into deep levels of suicidal thoughts, leading to her frequent abuse of drugs and alcohol. Outwardly, she had everything; looks, charm, talent, and yet, inside she’d felt so empty.

Perhaps it had been because of her loneliness as well as her disappointment in people… the disappointment that had been found by parents who’d so greatly failed her as a child, as well as a husband who’d even hit her at times, out of jealousy and rage. She, as if addicted to the sessions, attended therapeutic sessions with the guidance of Dr. Ralph Greenson. Her depression had most ideally been brought on by her pained and lonely childhood that had been filled with a sense of worthlessness, abandonment as well as a lack of trust in others.

In and out of foster homes and orphanages for the first sixteen years of her life, Marilyn was abused and suffered in many ways. Her mother, Gladys Baker had suffered from an immense series of mental disturbances and her father, Heaven knows what of her father, despite his cowardly abandonment of both his unstable wife and little child. Marilyn recalled on many occasions throughout her life of the kindness that her guardian Grace offered to her during her childhood. Almost acting as a rainbow in the midst of a massive storm, Grace often took Marilyn or Norma Jeanne as she’d been referred to as a little girl, to go and have her hair curled which (in her own words) had “meant a great deal” to her. Marilyn also remembered how her kind guardian had also bestowed upon her the freedom and ability to try on her lipsticks, powders, etc.

At the tender age of sixteen years old, forced to choose between more foster homes and orphanages or the marriage to a “kind” as she often referred to him, young man of about 21 years old, won over by the man’s kind and gentle nature, Marilyn settled upon the choice of “premature marriage.”

After her husband had left for the war… Norma Jeane drifted off towards her goal of one day becoming an “actress”. First, through various modeling gigs

as well as a cameo appearance in a few b-rated films, connections which had later led to her breakthrough film starring alongside Jane Russell “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes", she soon became a well-known movie star, a household name … and through the help of her appearance in the noir film “Niagara”, was soon painted even more so as “America’s Favorite Blonde” a highly regarded bombshell.

As the years went on, after two failed marriages, following her early marriage to young James Dougherty back in June of 1942, and several appearances (most of which linked themselves to roles of “dumb blondes”)  the years of depression that had been caused from her sorrowful childhood as well as her excessive fame had finally caught up to her.

After her final days, spent entangled in the excessive addiction to drugs and alcohol, Marilyn’s self-destructive behaviors had finally begun to wear on her. During the filming of her final and uncompleted film “Something’s  Gotta Give” starring alongside the two celebrated film stars; Dean Martin and Cyd Charisse, (an experience which most of the producers and members of the set referred to as a “nightmare”),  Marilyn had in fact suffered the bordering of a death-ridden experience due to her drug abuses. Despite the red flag put up by Marilyn’s death-bordering attack, her mental difficulties weren't quite aided enough, and in a sense (as some consider it to have been) made even worse by her therapy sessions with Dr. Greenson. Overworked, drained and used as if a machine, treated as a source of wealth for the producers in Hollywood, the studio dismissed Marilyn's attack and encouraged her to keep working regardless of her troubled mental and physical health.

The day had finally come… the day when Norma Jeanne Baker’s sorrow and tragedy had all caught up to her back in early August of ’62. On that morbid late summer morning, the actress’ body was found dead in her Brentwood home, a discovery which both pained and shocked the entire world. An interviewer, a journalist who’d interviewed her for “Life” magazine days before her death, had, in his own words been “floored” by the news of Marilyn’s death. He also had expressed his lack of suspicion of Marilyn’s nearness to such an event while interviewing her just days before the tragic incident. “To think, of Marilyn Monroe attempts suicide, around the world, punishing those s.o.b.s at Fox, punishing all of the people that’d been mean to her and treated her like a “joke”.” Were the journalist’s final words pertaining to his disbelief in the actress’ attempted “suicide”.

Perhaps poisoned by the toll that the excessive use of drugs and alcohol, I believe that either her mind had been fogged by the above listed factors, all of which had provoked her to such a tragic end. However, I do feel that with Marilyn’s final days being spent with an excessive amount of determination and fight towards Fox’s studios, in hopes of rejuvenating her career and fame
as well as re-obtaining her role in and resuming the production of “Something’s  Gotta Give”, that Marilyn had not committed suicide purposefully.
I believe, in fact, that there had still been a lot of willingness to live as well as a firm desire to become mentally stable as well as the hopes of rejuvintating her will to live. and that had it not been for drugs and alcohol, the legend would still be here today.
Perhaps, it is true that no matter how hard we try, Norma Jeanne will never be brought back to life… her end, despite it’s untimeliness  had been a force far to strong to fight against. However, I do know that her legend will live on forever, and her image has and for many generations yet to come shall remain embedded into the heads of those who have even ever seen a mere photograph of her. She is (as a documentary had once expressed) "An icon who's celebrity transcended her untimely end."

The Windows to the Soul

The Windows to the Soul

My personal favorite aspect of the human face would most definitely be the eyes, and I feel that many would be avid in agreeing with me, as the old saying goes "The Eyes are the Window to the Soul" ;)

So, shall we celebrate these windows, the facial aspect that expresses our fears, are sorrows and various other emotions?

In this article, I hope to assist you in bringing out the beauty of our eyes, all having been blessed with our own unique color and eye shape. Whether your chestnut or emerald eyes, I hope to offer you tips in bringing out the radiance and beauty of your eye color!

First off, here are some tips for those of you blue eyed babes! Now the best eyeshadow colors would most definitely consist of neutrals, as the warmness of a gold, bronze or brown will be avid in vividly denoting the blue undertones in your eyes, as the color of the eyeshadow contrasts so immensely to the coolness of your eye color! Opt for the above, and if interested in trying new and more brilliant and colorful shades... try for a deep eggplant or amethyst color.

Next, for my brown eyed beauties out there, I would suggest primarily opting for cooler shades such as; sapphire, aquamarine, etc. as the contrast of the blues will bring out the warm brown hues in your eye. Pink and brown contouring shadow as well as other neutrals are also always a safe pick as with most any eye color! ;)

For those Hazel eyed girls like me out there, the best and most complimentary shades would most definitely consist of any violet-based shades, smokey eyes, or coppers!

And last, but most certainly NOT least, for my emerald eyed ladies out there... the best shade would be like, sapphire, taupes, coffees or any other warmer shades to aid in highlighting your eye color through the help and boldness of it's contrast from one another.

Now, hopefully with some YouTube research and plenty of practice, you'll master the perfect eye-look. Also, look into and determine your eye shape, as well as find the perfect look; cat eye, smokey eye, etc. for that shape! ;) Now, celebrate your eyes, bat your lashes, smile and stay beautiful! Remember "For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others"~ Audrey Hepburn <3 xoxoxo

A Candle Dimmed too Soon

Beneath her immense beauty, talent and intellect, as well as her ability to woo princes, future presidents as well as aspiring and soon to be legendary fashion designers, like her first husband; Oleg Cassini. Captivated by the tour of the "Warner Brother's Studios", while having been bestowed by her father the honor of exploring the western parts of the United States with the rest of her family... Gene was soon discovered and immediately stunned and enchanted by a famed director and offered a contract after having presented a screen test at the tender age of seventeen years old.

After several years on the stages of Broadway, following her father's orders in pursuing a more "legitimate" career in the entertainment world, the beautiful starlet soon endeavored to build up her career behind the camera. After years of improving her career in the film industry, the actress soon married the celebrated and upcoming fashion designer Oleg Cassini, despite her parent's disapproval and went on to have two daughters, one born with several physical ailments and disabilities as well as severe mental retardation.

From the pained knowledge of her suffering child's extreme ailments, Tierney suffered excessive depression due to the intolerable grief she'd felt for her daughter. She had been especially guilt-ridden with the unexpected and mind-blowing confession of one of her "biggest fans" of having been infected with Rubella and having favored the actress so excessively, disregarded any quarantine orders surrounding her merely to be in the presence of the actress.
Incidentally, Tierney's adoption of the illness during her pregnancy had been the sole purpose of her poor daughter's physical ailments; deafness, blindness and massive mental retardation.  Tierney recalled the moment when the woman, in hopes of flattering her and informing her of her excessive admiration towards the actress, eagerly confessed her endeavor to meet the actress regardless to the illness infecting her.

All Tierney could do in response of the woman's horrifying confession had been merely to stare at her silently and then walk away. "After that, I didn't care whether ever again I was anyone's favorite actress." Tierney once relayed.
After approximately twenty-seven shock treatments, which she believed had assisted in the ruin of her memory, and several hospitalizations caused from suicide attempts, Tierney's acting career slowly dimmed, and for the rest of her old age, the actress spent her days quietly, until her death at the age of seventy years old in Houston, Texas.

Despite her short-lived famed, the actress' beauty and talent will never be forgotten. She shall live on, her beauty gracing the silver screen in such notable films as "Laura" and "Leave her to Heaven." Once beheld, the actress' electrifying beauty, her sparkling sapphire blue eyes, high cheek-bones, bow-shaped lips, porcelain complexion and raven black tresses, can far from easily be forgotten!  xoxoxo <3
