Vintage Halloween: Part 1

Vintage Halloween: Part 1

As the aisles at the local drugstores become clustered with endless raks of deplorable smelling rubber and plastic masks of both Scream and Frankenstein, the shelves of the candy aisle stacked with lbs. and lbs. of Skittles and Snicker bars, it's hard not to anticipate the annual festivies of Haloween! I mean, what's not to love about the eerie night? A night where you're given the opportunity to bring out your inner child, where you won't be laughed at for dressing up as your favorite Hollywood icon or storybook character. Not to mention the perfect excuse for stuffing your face with your favorite candies! Anyway, with Halloween coming up, I've decided to compile a list of vintage-esque Halloween costumes for those planning on trick-or-treating or throwing some evening bash filled with friends and bowls of candy! ;) Enjoy!

(1.) Charlie Chaplin

Ah! Charlie Chaplin... the king of silent films, a man whose facial expressions depicted far more than words could ever express. The man whose face remained favored by audiences, immortalized by the silver screen! A legendary icon, his distinct persoality and image featured in silent films during Hollywood's golden age! Renowned during the early years of Hollywood, he's most undeniably the perfect choice for a vintage-worthy Halloween costume! Then of course, we ought not forget another favorite from the silver screen, Judy Garland's Dorothy Gale from the iconic 1939 film "The Wizard of Oz". Dorothy's distint image, her cobalt plaid dress, braids and glimmering ruby slippers make her a popular choice for young girls!
