Day by Day

“What day is it?"
It's today," squeaked Piglet.
My favorite day," said Pooh.”

~A.A. Milne

Looking too far into our past or too far ahead in the midst of our future can be troublesome. It can ruin our mood for that day to dwell on the impossible. Impossible? Yes, impossible. It's impossible to change the past and it's also impossible to fast forward into the future. So, just take a moment to cherish the day at hand. Don't fret over the past and future so much that you forget to live and enjoy the moment God has given you.

And although we tend to forget, we are the one's primarily responsible of just how good of a day we end up having. Sure, there'll be people to sour it up a little or at least try, but then again, we also don't have to give them that power. Here are 7 simple things you can do to make your day all the better

(1.) Wake up earlier

Don't sleep away most of your day. There are so many different things you can go out and do. So many things you can experience. After all "The early bird catches the worm".

(2.) Go for a run

Do various activities to improve your health. Things to get your heart rate up, to improve your health and fitness and you'll find an immediate improvement in your mood and outlook on life for that matter.

(3.) Make a list of all of the people/things you're grateful for in life

Composing lists of people we love or things we're grateful of having been blessed with causes our brains to focus on the more positive aspects of our lives and therefore improves our entire outlook.

(4.) Try something new

Whether you go skydiving or simply decide to go to a store you've never shopped at before. Trying new things is always fun! The perfect way to add a flare of adventure to one's day!

(5.) Spend most of your day surrounded by nature's beauty

Take in that indescribable beauty that nature has to offer! Perhaps do some gardening, yard work, etc.

(6.) Help others

Whether you go out of your way to cheer someone up or buy a meal for a less fortunate being on the streets... helping others always gives a person a sense of worth, a sense of purpose and that makes a body feel enormously good!

(7.) Remind your loved ones just how much you love them

Take the time to write a letter/e-mail to a family member far away just letting them know how much you care, buy a small gift for family close-by, or even just take a moment to tell them how much you care with words.

There are so many ways to improve yourself, your day and your mood, you just have to get out there and try. Don't let the stress of tomorrow or the next day or the day after that bring you down and instead focus all of your energy on simply enjoying your day to the fullest... you can worry about tomorrow when it comes.
